“I graduated from Taylorsville High School. I am the oldest girl of 4 kids (2 older brothers, 1 younger sister). I’m the important one, I’m the Fahu lol! I am married with 3 boys. My favorite Polynesian food is Lu-pulu & faikakai topai!”
“I don’t think I’ve had one big life changing events but a few that have helped shape me and be who I am today! I remember when I was a kid having no power or heat in our house during the winter time, and knowing I’ll never let this happen to my family in the future. That has made me the hard worker I am. When my parents got divorced my senior year, that made me the mom I am today and know what I want in a marriage and what kind of parent I want to be. We go through a lot but as cliché as it sounds, don’t let the negative parts about your past, determine who you are in the future. Use it as motivation to stop the cycle. You can make anything happen for yourself if you work hard for it.”
“My roots come from Fua’amotu and Nakolo Villages in Tonga and Nakalei Camp & Waimanu Valley Hawaii.
My culture has taught me respect. You can be respectful anytime, anywhere, to anyone. It’s a lesson that can be applied to everything and will get you far.
Don’t let stigmas of who you think you need to be because of your culture consume you. Be who you are and be that 100%. Go for whatever it is you want to go for and stick with it. Hard work really does pay off. The ones who support you will always stick with you.”
